I’m Terry – but everyone calls me Tel. Born in the North West, proud brother, and big believer in squeezing every drop out of the present. I’ve been fishing for over 20 years, ever since a 2lb roach at Acton Bridge in 2004 hooked me for good. Back then money was tight, and fishing became the escape — something cheap, peaceful, and weirdly addictive.
I’ve always loved the science of angling - reading mags, testing baits, tweaking rigs, figuring out why fish do what they do. That never-ending loop of learning and improving is what keeps me coming back. My standout memory? Brookside Fishery, 02:30am - bite alarm goes off like a fire drill, I leg it out the bivvy half-asleep, hook into a raging catfish… before realising I’ve forgotten to put pants on. Landed it though - 23lb, moonlight, pliers, chaos. Unforgettable.
Rig-wise, I keep it simple: a Ronnie on a 5-inch boom, curved shank, and a PVA mesh of micro pellets threaded down the hooklink - the poor man’s solid bag. Bit of A.K.I. glug and it’s laughing. My fishing philosophy is K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple, Stupid. The second I try to be clever, everything ends up tangled.
Being part of Baits by A.K.I. means progression, passion, and backing my brother’s mission to build something serious. I’m here to support, share knowledge, and help the brand grow however I can.
I live by “Carpe Diem.” Favourite UK water? Llyn Derwen in the Welsh valleys. Dream destination? Anywhere quiet, scenic, and equipped with working toilets — priorities.
